Daily Itinerary:



  • Day 1: Arrival in Luang Namtha

    Begin your journey with a pickup from Bokeo, traveling to Luang Namtha. Luang Namtha is renowned for its rich cultural diversity, nestled amidst lush landscapes and ethnic villages. The town serves as a gateway to the Nam Ha National Protected Area, offering opportunities for trekking, kayaking, and cultural immersion. 


  • Day 2: Trekking through Nam Ha NPA to Ban Nalan, a Khmu Village

    Embark on a journey through the lush landscapes of Nam Ha National Protected Area (NPA), a haven for biodiversity and cultural heritage. The trek begins at Doiluckkham, ascending through secondary forests into the upland rainforest. Along the way, enjoy a traditional Lao-style picnic lunch in the forest, offering a taste of local flavors amidst nature. In the evening, arrive at Ban Nalan, a Khmu village, where you’ll experience the community’s lifestyle, culture, and traditions firsthand. 




  • Day 3: Trekking to Lanten Village

    Continue your adventure by following trails along the Nam Ha River, leading to the Lanten village of Ban Namkoy. This segment offers scenic views of the river and surrounding landscapes. The Lanten people, known for their distinctive culture and traditions, provide a unique cultural experience. Engage with the villagers to learn about their way of life and immerse yourself in their rich heritage. 


  • Day 4: Trekking Back to Luang Namtha through Ban Namlue

    On the final day, trek back to Luang Namtha, passing through Ban Namlue, a village inhabited by the Lanten ethnic group. This route offers deeper insights into Lanten culture and daily life. Upon returning to Luang Namtha, explore the vibrant night market, where you can sample local delicacies, shop for handicrafts, and experience the lively atmosphere of the town. 

     




  • Day 5: Travel from Luang Namtha to Phongsaly

    Embark on a long journey from Luang Namtha to Phongsaly. Phongsaly is the capital of Phongsaly province, known for its rugged landscapes, diverse ethnic groups, and rich cultural heritage. The province is home to about 22 different ethnicities, including Phounoi, Tai Lu, Khmu, Akha, and others. 


  • Day 6: Trekking to Akha Village of Paicho

    Begin your trek to the Akha village of Paicho. The Akha people are known for their distinctive attire, intricate silver jewelry, and traditional farming practices. Visiting the village provides an opportunity to learn about their customs and daily life.




  • Day 7: Trekking to Peryenxangmai, Another Akha Village

    Continue your exploration by trekking to Peryenxangmai, another Akha village. This village offers further insights into the Akha culture, including their traditional houses, communal activities, and spiritual beliefs.


  • Day 8: Trekking Back to Phongsaly and Travel to Muang Khua

    trek back to Phongsaly Town along scenic trails, passing through lush forests and remote villages, where you can interact with local communities. After reaching Phongsaly, travel to Muang Khua, a charming riverside town known for its picturesque landscapes and tranquil atmosphere. It’s an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of northern Laos.




  • Day 9: Muang Khua to Muang Ngoy

    Proceed to Muang Ngoy, a charming village accessible only by boat, nestled amidst towering limestone cliffs. With no road access, Muang Ngoy exudes a laid-back atmosphere, offering visitors a glimpse into traditional Lao village life. Explore the surrounding caves, hike to nearby ethnic villages, or simply relax by the riverbank.


  • Day 10: Muang Ngoy to Nong Khiaw

    Continue your journey to Nong Khiaw, a picturesque town renowned for its dramatic limestone mountains and the Nam Ou River running through its heart. Nong Khiaw is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering activities such as hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking, all set against breathtaking natural scenery.



  • Day 11: The 100 Waterfalls Trek

    Embark on the famous 100 Waterfalls trek, an adventurous hike that leads you through a series of cascading waterfalls nestled within the jungle. This full-day excursion offers an exhilarating experience, with opportunities to climb alongside waterfalls, traverse lush landscapes, and immerse yourself in the untouched beauty of the region.


  • Day 12: Nong Khiaw to Luang Prabang

    Conclude your journey with a trip to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage city celebrated for its well-preserved architecture, vibrant markets, and spiritual significance. Explore its numerous temples, such as the revered Wat Xieng Thong, visit the bustling night market, and perhaps participate in the traditional alms-giving ceremony at dawn.
