This two-day kayak adventure on the Namtha River offers thrilling year-round kayaking with exciting rapids and whitewater. Enjoy dramatic scenery between Nam Ha NPA and plantation areas, savor delicious Lao food with a picnic lunch by the river, discover multi-cultural minority villages, and spend the night in a Khmu village.

Itinerary:

Day 1: (Luang Namtha - Sop Tud - Sop Sim - Huay Luang)
9:00 AM: Meet the guide and driver at the office for introductions and a brief overview. Drive to the morning market for supplies, then head to the kayak starting point. Kayaking: After a safety briefing, paddle on calm waters to Sop Tud village to visit the Lanten people. Learn about their culture and indigo paper-making. Lunch: Enjoy a picnic lunch by the Namtha River. Afternoon: Continue kayaking through rapids and whitewater, surrounded by mountains. Stop at a Khmu village before reaching Ban Huay Luang. Overnight in the eco-lodge next to the river.

Day 2: (Huay Luang - Hat Yong - Sin Oudom - Hat Naleng)
Morning: Wake up to the sounds of village life and enjoy a warm Lao breakfast. Kayaking: Paddle downriver past beautiful landscapes and secondary jungle. Visit the Khmu village of Ban Hat Yong and the Lao boat village of Ban Sin Oudom. Lunch: Stop for a scenic riverside Lao picnic. Afternoon: Continue kayaking through dramatic rapids until reaching Hat Naleng village around 3:30 PM. A driver will pick you up and return you to the city.
